Building Positive Organizations - 10 hours of possible content and application


All trainings are based on positive psychology and neuroscience research and evidence-based applications which are being contributed by major universities like the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard, Stanford, University of California at Davis and Berkeley, Case Western University, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and more.


We closely follow the University of Pennsylvania tribe for several reasons: (1) The father of positive psychology, Martin Seligman, is based at Penn. He and his colleagues started the Master of Applied Positive Psychology program there. Graduates of this MAPP program developed a 200-hour certificate program called CAPP offered through their company, The Flourishing Center, based in New York City but offered in several satellite locations all over the country and in Canada. The lead trainer of Better World Organizations holds a CAPP certification which she earned in 2016 after traveling back and forth to Philadelphia for seven months. (2) Some of the leading resiliency researchers are also based at Penn and helped develop the resiliency programs for the U.S. Army. ​They continue to lead the positive psychology movement in many ways, including serving on the leadership team of the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA).


Our lead trainer was recently certified as a Bounce Back Better® Resiliency Skills Education Trainer as well. This certification was also offered through The Flourishing Center, with its material based on the resiliency research from Penn and other leading universities. Twenty four hours of training is available, but content can be customized to the needs of clients.


Additionally, we closely follow the Center for Positive Organizations based at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Its researchers bring the research and application of positive psychology into the context of building positive organizations, hence the title of our workshop series Building Positive Organizations. It is our attempt to distill hundreds of hours of possible teaching material into a 10-hour course.
